Show Bountiful News By BERTHA L. MUIR 295-3742 Mrs. Ruby Layton returned Sunday from a month's vacation vaca-tion spent in Portland, Ore. with Mr. and Mrs. Hiliary Howard and family in San Francisco, Calif, with Mr. and Mrs. Cal Coltin. Mrs. Margaret Eding-ham Eding-ham of Salt Lake City spent the weekend in Bountiful. Boun-tiful. She entertained her card club at dinner and bridge. Her guests were Mrs. Idell Shipp, Mrs. Catherine Bednark and Mrs. Emily T. Eldredge. Memorial day guests at the Bertha Muir home were Mr. and Mrs. Vard A. Dalley and son Chris, of Layton, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Ledingham and George Ledingham of Ogden and Margaret Ledingham. The fireside schedule for the Bountiful Region is planned for each Sunday evening in June at 8:30 p.m. in the Regional Center. June 2 the Bountiful, Utah Orchard Stake will be hosts. The speaker will be Dr. J. Courtney Court-ney Black. June 9 host will be Bountiful, Utah Val Verda Stake. Salt Lake area North Dances will be held on Tuesday Tues-day at the South Davis Junior High School. Time is 8 p.m. until 11 p.m. Murdock orchestra will provide the music. Valley Central area dances will be held on Fridays at 8 p.m. Dance starts at 9 p.m. Refreshments will be served. For further information call 278-6609. Valley South area dances will be held on Saturdays Satur-days at the Taylorsville, Utah Stake Center at 5000 South 1950 West. Dance instruction will be given at 8 p.m. For further information call 298-4324. Summer trips planned are a trip to the Manti Pageant Saturday, Sat-urday, July 13. Cost $6, one-day one-day trip. Marne Mercer of San Francisco Fran-cisco arrived by plane to spend the weekend with his mother, Mrs. Florence Mercer and other family members. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Domm and family and Mrs. Idell Shipp spent Sunday in Idell's home town, Gunnison. Each year this trip is taken for Memorial day. The Jessamine Literary Club and Junior Jessamine Clubs and guests will meet on Tuesday, June 3 for lunch at the Lion House at 12:30 p.m. New officers for each club will be announced. An interesting program has been planned for this closing function func-tion of the club year. Salmon Ricer boat tour is being planned by the state Narfe group. A large appreciative group of Davis County senior citizens cit-izens attended the opening performance ot summer shows at the Lagoon Opera House Tuesday evening May 27. Robert Hyde Wilson welcomed wel-comed the group and the University of Utah Theater players presented the musical comedy "Bye Bye Birdie." At 5 p.m. this group of senior citizens enjoyed dinner at Oakridge Country Club. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Robins, Mrs. Mary Rhodes and President Lloyd Riley, who made the plans, welcomed the guests. Other musical comedies to be presented are "Damn Yankees" and "Paint Your Wagon." |
