Show Golden Years Events The Golden Years Center will have a special treat for members and friends on Saturday, Sa-turday, May 31 at 1 p.m. A comic opera "Cox and Box" written by Arthur Sullivan and produced by Westminster College students, especially for the senior citizens, will be performed at no charge and all are invited. THE QUILTERS are still busy, anyone who would like a quilt, may bring materials and Dora Jones will help get it ready for the ladies who like to stitch, anyone is invited to join in the quilting. Les Patterson will present a travelogue on Alaska on Monday, Mon-day, June 2 at 3:30 p.m. in the center. ROY VAN Orman will be at the center on Monday, June 9 from 1:30 until 5 p.m. to give an "Overall View of the San Francisco Gerontology Conference On Aging," which he has attended. All volunteers, volun-teers, board members, staff and anyone interested in the problems of aging are invited to attend. June 16 at 3:30 p.m. will be the time to honor Fathers. The ' Golden Year's orchestra and chorus will provide a program and Harry Jones, feature writerof the Deseret News will speak. Everyone is invited to this program. CLASSES WILL continue during the summer according to the new schedules which will be in the mail right away. If you do not receive your monthly schedules, call the center, 295-3479 to be put on the mailing list. Get your reservations in right away for the Shakespearean Shake-spearean Festival in July at the College of Southern Utah in Cedar City. A LARGE group of senior citizens had a dinner party at the Oakr,idge Country Club and then attended the first production, "Bye, Bye, Birdie" Bir-die" at the Lagoon Opera House, kj |
