Show MayorJohnston Is Director of President's Ball Mayor Ed Johnston has been selected se-lected Director of the "Birthday Ball for the President ', which will be held at the Armcry hall herj Tuesday evening, January 30. Similar Sim-ilar balls are to be held on that date throughout the country for the benefit of the inl ntile paralysis paral-ysis home which President Roosevelt Roose-velt established in Georgia several years ago. The purpose of the ball is to "establish "es-tablish through the direct help of the citizens of the country an endowment en-dowment for the Georgia Waim Springs Foundation, created in 1925 by President Roosevelt, so that this Foundation may cany cn its natioi.al crusade against Infantile Paralysis, and devote unselfishly its full energy and thought to tin co-ordination cf the fight against a s.ourge which physically handicaps handi-caps everv -year,- thoirands cf merican children Mayor Johnston requests the committee members to meet at the public library building Monday evening eve-ning at 7:30. |
