Show Beer Laws, Gum Machine Licenses, Routine Matters Discussed at Council Meet Various and sundry subjects, foi the most part of a routine nature, were discussed last Saturday nighl at the first city council meeting to be held since the new administration administra-tion took office. Among the most important items on the docket was the question of issuing beer licenses. Mayor Ed Johnston reviewed the schedule which was endorsed last Saturday afternoon at Ephraim, and which is presented elsewhere in the Pyramid. Pyr-amid. Charles Eatinger spoke in behalf be-half of a strict beer ordinance. J. L. Anderson of Spanish Fork, a representative of Becker Products company, recommended that the city ci-ty pass an ordinance permitting operation op-eration of gum vending machines upon payment of a $12.00 license for nickle machines, and $6.00 for the. penny machine. The matter was taken under advisement. Mayor Johnston also explained formation of the Sanpete County Municipal League which was recently rec-ently accomplished at. Ephraim. The league, which exists lor the purpose cf effecting closer harmony and cooperation among the county's coun-ty's municipalities, has at its head a Chairman and a Secretary, and the Mayors within the county comprise com-prise the Executive Committee, he stated.
