Show James Macfarlane Elected UEA Vice President James Macfarlane, a native son of Pleasant Grove, and now a resident res-ident of Midvale, has been elected Vice President of the Utah Educational Edu-cational Association. The election was held in Salt Lake City last Friday as a part of the annual convention of Utah's public school educators. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Facfarlane of this city. James Macfarlane graduated from the Pleasant Grove High School in 1939, where he was prominent prom-inent in athletics. He attended BYU and graduated with the class of 1946. Between his high school and college col-lege careers he served as a World War II pilot in the U.S. Air Force. He saw active duty in the European Euro-pean Theatre of the conflict. He married the former Marilyn Petty of Provo, Utah and the couple are parents of two girls Sherri, 4 and Terri Ann, 2. For the past ten years Mr. Macfarlane Mac-farlane has served as a teacher in the Midvale Junior High School of Jordan District. He is a past vice president of the Jordan Teachers Tea-chers Association. He has been relieved of his teaching duties this year in order to serve as Assistant Executive Secretary of Jordan District's Teacher Tea-cher Merit Rating study committee. |
