Show Utah County ASC Office Tells of Wheat Allotments The Utah County ASC Office announced to the farmers of Utah County that a bill was passed in Congress of the United States last we3k repealing the cross compliance compli-ance of wheat allotments and the Agricultural Conservation Program. Pro-gram. Previous to the repealing of this bill any person who exceeded their wheat allotment would be ineligible ineli-gible to receive government assistance assist-ance under the Agricultural Conservation Con-servation Program. A person may now exceed their wheat allotment and be eligible for government assistance under this program. However, the penalties pen-alties for excess wheat have not been changed and will remain in effect for the 1955 crop of wheat. May 31, 1955 is the last day in which Farmers and, Ranchers of Utah County may sign requests for cost-sharing under the Agricultural Agri-cultural Conservation Program for practices that they plan on starting start-ing during the month cf June. All Farmers may apply at anytime any-time during the year for assistance assist-ance by indicating the month in which they plan on starting work. The County Committee, during the first week of each month will allocate al-locate funds for practices that are approved, and 90 days will be given giv-en in which to complete the practice. |
