To be added to the already constructed eight-room building will be 12 new rooms, making a twenty-room unit with an assembly hall and administrative offices. The building will be let cut or bid and will be finished in time for the beginning of school in the fall. Old structure will be torn down. School Board Approves Plans For Central School Addition At a regular meeting of the Alpine School District Board of Education held Monday, May 23, architects drawings were approved approv-ed for a twelve-room addition to the Pleasant Grove Central School The drawings were prepared by Lawrence D. Olpin of Ogden. The entire project will include the razing of the old Central building, bids for which are called for on June 6; and the completion of the new addition' in time for the opening of school next September. The new construction will include in-clude three classrooms on the south, three classrooms on the North, and four classrooms on the east of the site of the old building. build-ing. In addition the structure will feature a large "multi-purpose" room with a stage. Necessary lavatory lav-atory rooms and administrative facilities will also be provided. The new addition together with the eight rooms now available will make an integrated unit of 20 classrooms and auxiliary facilities. The people of the Pleasant Grove area are happy that the Board of Education have taken decisive action to relieve the crowded condition of the local elementary ele-mentary schools. |
