Show i I . ' i EMILE CANCES Tentative Plans for Swimming Pool Set Tentative plans were laid for Pleasant Grove's Memorial Swimming Swim-ming Pool at a meeting held at the City Hall Monday night. The proposals suggested at the meeting meet-ing call for a swimming pool of adequate size, a wading pool for the small fry, a heating and Alteration Alter-ation plant, and dressing, shower and storage facilities. No definite action was taken regarding re-garding a site for the pool. Two possible locations are being considered: con-sidered: the city recreation park west of town and the campus of the new Senior High School. Each of these two sites has its proponents, propon-ents, and no decision will be made until all factors have been considered, con-sidered, according to Mayor Edward Ed-ward C. Roberts. At Monday night's meeting three citizens were appointed to head up the huge undertaking. Emile J. Cances was named general chairman; Sam Green, finance chairman; and Harvey Smith, site chairman. A construction chairman chair-man is yet to be named, the Mayor May-or stated Thursday morning. Estimates of the cost of the project vary, but the total expense might be roughly estimated at $50,000. Of this amount approximately approxi-mately $10,000 could be used from Pleasant Grove's share of the Utah County Veterans Memorial Fund. This sum will become available avail-able only if the plans meet the approval of the local Veterans Council and the Utah County Commission. The rest of the cost is hoped to be raised through contributions con-tributions from individuals and organizations. or-ganizations. City officials have stated at the preliminary meetings that the city was not in a position to assist in a financial way, but would help out in any other way possible. |
