Show ELEMENTARY SCHOOL NEWS I Central School Fifth grade teachers tea-chers Iowa Hall, Herbert Gilbert and Ben Homer spent Tuesday afternoon af-ternoon at the Stewart Training School, University of Utah. The teachers observed demonstrations in methods of teai-hing arithmetic. ESN On Friday afternoon, Nov. 8, Sixth Giade teachers Miss Loma Jean Maycock and Lynn Beam-son Beam-son will make the trip to the Stewart Stew-art Training School for the purpose pur-pose of observing demonstrations on teaching of arithmetic. ESN The Central School PTA officers offic-ers are currently arranging details for a "Galosh Exchange Day" at the school. Galoshes exist in three types, too small, too large and just right. If children have galoshes that do not fit they may bring them to school and perhaps exchange them for a pair that does. If 'they do not care to make an exchange, they may sell the unwanted boots for 50 cents a pair. ESN Halloween Family Nites were highly successful in all three Elementary Ele-mentary Schools, Lindon, Central and Grovecrest. Not only did the children and their parents have a good time; but the general conduct of the young people throughout the town- was In the main exemplary. Householders report that Trick or Treaters, before and .after the school programs, were slightly more numerous than last year. However, no serious damage was reported and for the most part the children were courteous and respectful. re-spectful. All who assisted in the p.'cgra.m are to be complimented. ESN Wednesday evening the Grove-crest Grove-crest Third Graders entertained their parents with a Thanksgiving program. Teachers who assisted the program numbers were Mrs. Rose Radmall and Mrs. Carol Jaynes, assised by training teachers teach-ers Shirley Thomas and Rosalind Estrada. ESN Last week, Grovecrest boys and girls who had birthdays during October were entertained by the school lunch personnel. Each child received a specially prepared pastry pas-try treat. ESN Mrs. Carol Jaynes was the representative rep-resentative of Grovecrest School at the audio-visual education conference confer-ence held at BYU last Friday. Mrs. Jaynes will report the proceedings pro-ceedings of the conference at the next Groveorest faculty meeting. ESN On Monday, Nov. 4, Policeman John Huntsman visited Gordon Walker's room at Groveorest School. The purpose of his visit was to "swear in" the junior police officers for November. ESN The first announcement was made by Principal Donna O. Ash Thursday of the annual Parent's Visiting Day, scheduled at Grovecrest Grove-crest School on Friday, Nw. 15. Complete plans will be announced later. ESN It's Savings Stamp Day at the Groveorest School on Wednesday, Nov. 13. Parent's cooperation is sincerely requested. |
