Show Old Man Winter Arrives Earlier This Year Than Usual Old Man Winter arrived considerably con-siderably early this year and unexpected. un-expected. He delivered a one-two punch of cold and snow which caught the people locally almost totally unprepared. Gray skies have been the order of the day for most of the weather week which ended Monday, Nov. 4, and daytime temperatures have been abnormally low for -this time of year. The cloud cover has kept early morning temperatures from dropping too low. However the season's sea-son's lowest recording of 29 degrees de-grees was observed on the morning morn-ing of Nov. 4. From the reports of the U.S. Weather Bureau the storm was general throughout the western states with considerable moisture resulting. Locally, more than an inch of water had fallen including the storm of last Monday. Forecasters predict clearing skies for the weekend, with gradually grad-ually improving conditions and warmer daytime temperatures.
