Show Eldon Armitstead Home from FFA Nat'l Convention Eldon Armitstead, senior student stu-dent at Pleasant Grove High School and President of the PGHS Chapter, Future Farmers of America, Am-erica, is back at school after attending at-tending the recent National FFA Convention at Kansas City, Mo. Eldon is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Armitstead of Locust Ave. According to Eldon, the highlights high-lights of the Oct. 14 through 17 convention were addresses by ex-president ex-president Harry S. Truman, and the Swedish Ambassador to the United States. Entertainment included a program pro-gram by the Firestone Rubber Co., presenting actors from all over the world and concerts by the National FFA Band and Male Chorus . A feature tf the last day of the convention was the naming of Clarence Ch"pell of Kentucky as "Star Farmer of the Year." Said Mr. Armitstead, "I was greatly impressed by the activity of the teenage FFA Boys in conducting con-ducting meetings and organizing their own affairs." |
