Show Burton H. Adams 8s Elected P.G. Mayor . ',7. i y - iw I . i BURTON H. ADAMS The voters of Pleasant Grove expressed themselves decisively at the polls in last Tuesday's city election. Burton H. Adams, running run-ning on the Citizens Party ticket was elected Mayor by a large majority ma-jority over Grant Fugal, candidate for Mayor on the Peoples Party ticket. Elected also for four-year city councilmen were Paul Adamson and Rex Gourley, both running on the Peoples Party ticket. Both won decisively. According to an unofficial report at 10 p.m. Tuesday, released by City Recorder Millen D. Radmall, the total votes oast in the four voting districts are as follows: Citizens Party Ticket For mayor, may-or, Burton H. Adams, 747; for four-year councilmen, George E. McNees, 455 and Samuel Green, 495. Peoples Party Ticket1 For mayor, may-or, Grant K. Fugal, 382; for four-year four-year city councilmen, Rex Gourley 644 and Paul Adamson 647. According to Mr. Radmall the vote was reasonably heavy for an off-year city election. When advised of his election late Tuesday night Mayor-elect Adams made the following comment: To the Citizens of PI. Grove I hereby extend my thanks and appreciation to the citizens of this community for the vote of confidence con-fidence in my behalf at the election elec-tion Tuesday, Nov. 5. I fully realize the honor of the office is icnly secondary when compared com-pared with the task before one. With the cooperatin of the council coun-cil as it will be constituted, come January 1st, I feel that we can and should be able to effect ways and means that will he helpful in future fu-ture developments 'and which will benefit all our interests." City eouncilmen-eleict Paul Adamson Ad-amson and Rex Gourley expressed themselves as follows: "We bake this opportunity to thank the people of Pleasant Grove who supported us in this election. We hope to -assume our new duties supporting- good, clean .and efficient effic-ient city government.
