PLAT lehi mm ay m last LEASII1 CONTEST Plcasant Grove's championship bound Vikings continued to roll last Friday when they clubbed into in-to submission an under-manned Union High Schooil team 37 to 7. The game was played at Roosevelt. and a touchdown and again to Gene Ash for the final six-pointer. Both conversion attempts failed. Final score PG 37, Union 7. The Vikes could wrap up the R-pgion VII championship with a win over tthe Lehi Pioneers tomorrow, tomor-row, Nov. 1 at 2:30 p.m. on the P.G. field. This is the last league game for tthe Alger Boys euid a win of this one will set the stage for the quarterfinals. The opponent of the Vikings, if and when they beat Lehi, will be the winner of a Dixie-Monb game to be played in Moab, at a time and place to be announced later. In other Region VII games played play-ed last Friday, Lehi beat BY High . 13 to 0 and Uintah scooped American Ameri-can Fork 13 to 6. High 1 3 .250 Union 0 4 .000 As usual, Paul "the Horse" Allen Al-len was the chief contributor to the victory of the Alger Boys but he was ably assisted by Kay Giles, Don Hales, Bruce Gray and Jerry Jer-ry Peterson, who scored touchdowns touch-downs in their own right. Gene Ash added a touchdown and an extra point for good measure. According to Coach Ned Alger the scoring plays were about as follows: Early in the first quarter Allen went off tackle for the longest run of the game, a 65-yard gallop to score. The conversion Uy was no good. Score, PG, 6; Union 0. Also in the first canlo, Kay Giles scooped up a blocked Union punt and ran 20 yards for the touchdown. Gem? Ash kicked the one-pointer. Score P.O. 13; Union 0. Again in the first quarter Craig Smith passed to Giles and the rangy end went 30 yards and over again for the tally. The conversion conver-sion attempt was wide. Score PG, 19; Union 0. Union got back into the ball game near the end of the first quarter when Crazier went around end for 14 yards and a Union touchdown. The conversion kick was good. Score P.G. 19; Union 7. No blood was drawn by either team during the second quarter; but after the long rest period the Vikings scored again. Allen made one of his spectacular runs to sot things up and then Don Hales carried over on a quarterback sneak. No conversion point was made. Score PG, 25; Union, 7.
