Show Svenson Family Escapes Serious Mishap in Accident Bernard Swenson, his wife and five children of Emery County, barely escaped serious injury at 1:30 last Sunday afternoon in an autmobile accident at the inter section of Third East and Battle Creek Drive. The Swenson family were traveling travel-ing north on Third East when the car in which they were riding was struck in the side by an automobile auto-mobile driven by David J. Barney, 16, of American Fork. The Barney Bar-ney vehicle was traveling east on Battle Creek Drive. Investigating officers report that the accident occurred when Mr. Barney failed to obey the "yield" traffic sign. , The Swenson car was tipped on its side and the occupan'ts badly shaken up. Douglas Swenson, 5, was most seriously injured .suffering .suffer-ing head injuries. He was taken to the American Fork Hospital for X-rays and first aid and later re-Leased. re-Leased. Other members of the Swenson family escaped with minor cuts and bruised. Mr. Bar-ned Bar-ned was not injured. Damage to the Barney car was estimated at $150.00. The Swenson car, a 1951 sedan, was a total loss. Mr. Barney reoeived a citation for failure to obey traffic regulations. |
