Show 'Middle Age' Is Discussed by Cadmus Club "Middle age" was referred to as the new prime of life in the interesting discussion enjoysd recently re-cently by Cadmus Club members in the home of Mrs. Jess Walker. Walk-er. The group agreed, people in America today place the prime of life somewhere betwe:n 40 and 60 years with business men more likely to place it brtween 40 and 50, professional men place their prime between 50 or 55, manual workers regard the prime of life as between 30 and 40 and women vary in their opinions regarding re-garding their top years of efficiency. effic-iency. Another interesting point, brought out by group leaders, Mrs. Arza Adams and Mrs. Ella Jackson, was that the latter half of life now seems more inviting, and also something more to be counted on, than was true a century ago. "Maturity might be defined as recognition that a person has reached the peak of his career, passed his physical prime, and has only a limited time left to do all the things he would like to do," said Mrs. Jackson. The discussion brought out that the principal means of coping cop-ing with life shifts from the use of physical energy to the use of wisdom, and suggested that the successful person learns to reinvest his emotions in new friends and other pursuits. Mrs. Calvin Walker, co-hostess, assisted the hostess in the serving of light refreshments. The group made appreciative comments on the prize winning dahlias of Jess Walker, which were used to decorate the room. |
