Show Unit 70 Auxiliary Hears Reports From Girl Staters Reports from Girls Staters Karen Fugal, Sheila Anderson, and Linda Larsen and a convention conven-tion report by Mrs. Geneve Dal-ton Dal-ton were features of the Unit 70 American Legion Auxiliary opening op-ening social held on September 24. The affair was held at the home of Auxiliary vice president Joyce Jacobs. All three of the girls were enthusiastic en-thusiastic about their participation participa-tion in the 1959 Girls State activities ac-tivities at Utah State University. Univer-sity. They voiced appreciation for the opportunities made possible by the sponsors. Mrs. Dalton reviewed the highlights high-lights of the Auxiliary Convention Conven-tion held recently at Minneapolis. Minneapol-is. Child welfare, veterans rehabilitation re-habilitation and Americanism were stressed she said. Following the program conducted con-ducted by Unit President Lela R. Banks, refreshments were served ser-ved and the group was entertained entertain-ed by a male quartet from the Central Utah Chapter of the National Barber Shop Singers Association. The singers were Beck, Clark, Jack Owen, Elray Richins and Clyde Pyper. Those present not previously mentioned were Sadie Beck, Al-ta Al-ta Nielson, Orpha Cornaby, Mary Washburn, Jo Peterson, Venace Fugal, May Jensen, LaVon Anderson, An-derson, Thelma Adamson, and Eva Adams. Mrs. Banks announced that .regular meetings would be held the third Wednesday of each month. The next meeting will be at 7:30 pm., October 21 at the home of Mrs. Banks. |
