Show POST HASTE by J. R JUills Pleasant Grove philatelists will be pleased to leam that the government gov-ernment is going to start selling stamp collectors the cancelled stamps it gets on incoming worldwide world-wide mail in hopes of adding a few extra dollars to the treasury. The idea came from Roger Stef-fan, Stef-fan, a retired banker, who is directors direc-tors of operations at the White House. He recalled that many financial fin-ancial institutions save inccoming foreign stamps and sell them to dealers at a profit. He suggested the government do likewise. Collectors are invited to bid for stamps clipped from both foreign and domestic mail. They will come from letters to the White House, the U.S. Information Agency, the Foreign Operations Administration Administra-tion and sections of the treasury and commerce departments. Lock Your Box If you happen to be one of the patrons in the Pleasant Grove area who has a post office box at the post office where you pick up your mail, this item is for you: A much traveled man from Missouri, Mis-souri, recently apprehended, has admitted robbing post office boxes in at least five states of thousands of dollars in checks. His methods were to make regular visits to the lobbies of various post offices and try to open all the post office boxes. A large number of not-too-careful persons had neglected to make certain that their boxes were securely locked after they had gotten got-ten their mail. As a result, the thief had no difficulty in stealing numerous num-erous checks. We hope no one will try this stunt at the Pleasant Grove post office, but we would caution all box holders to double check their boxes to make sure they are securely se-curely locked before leaving the office. As a convenience to post office box holders, the lobby of the post office is open from 7 a.m. to 8 pm. each Monday through Sunday. Ovetrseas Xmas Mailings .
