Show Mothers of Year Honored by State Fair Board Utah Mothers of the Year 1956, nominees from the various districts in the contest held last April were guests of the state fair board on Wednesday. Honored were Mrs. Luella Dal-ton Dal-ton of Parowan, Utah Mother of 1956; Mrs. Lavina Fugal, American Ameri-can Mother 1955; and Mrs. Anton H. Lund, alternate Mother for 1955, and nine other mothers winners win-ners in their districts. Also guests were Mrs. Lucile H. Walker, vice president of the Utah Mothers Association, and Mrs. Walter Kerr, chairman of Utah Mother Contest. All morning the guests were driven to the various exhibits, and luncheon was enjoyed at noon. All had reserved seats at the Holiday on Ice, and later again tourned the exhibits including the Horse Show. After a bounteous dinner at the cafe, the Utah Mothers Association Associa-tion held their meeting where Mrs. Anton H. Lund was elected president presi-dent of the organization to succeed Lavina C. Fugal. Mrs. Lucile Walker was retained as vice president and Mrs. Warren Lewes of Ogden treasurer. Mrs. Lund will choose a secretary. The purpse of the organization is to honor American Motherhood, and its members are pledged to work for international peace, through promoting greater spirituality spirit-uality in the home. The national aims are to encourage encour-age families to pray together, to attend church and strive to place a Bible in every home. |
