Show Betty Moyle Wins State Cherry Pie Bake at State Fair Miss Betty Moyle, winner of the Cherry Pie Baking contest at the recent Pleasant Grove Community Fair, took first honors at the Utah State Fair on Saturday, Sept. 22. The Utah State Championship carries car-ries with an all-expense paid trip to Chicago for Miss Moyle and her mother, Mrs. Austin Moyle. On February 21, 1957, Betty will compete in the National Cherry Pie baking contest at Chicago's Sheraton Hotel. In the competition at the Utah State Fair, Betty won in competition compe-tition with 18 other contestants from as many communities thru-out thru-out Utah. The national contest is sponsored by the National Cherry Pie Institute. In-stitute. ' Incidentally, Betty is the third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Austin Moyle who has won Utah State first honors for the baking of cherry pies. Mary Ann was the state champion for 1950 andi Irene for 1955. "I would like to extend my thanks to the sponsors of the Pleasant Grove Community contest con-test which made my state and national participation possible," said Betty Wednesday. |
