Show Mothers Study Club Entertained at Paulson Home Members of the Mothers Study Club met at the home of Mrs. Deane Paulson on Thursday, Sept. 13. Harold Robison talked to the ladies on the South African situation. situ-ation. He said that there were approximately ap-proximately eight million negroes, two million white people and one million mixed population in this area. The new government is discriminating dis-criminating against the negroes and they are being moved out of Johannesburg into restricted areas. He described the country and told of many interesting events that transpired during the time he and his wife were there. Mrs. Robison told of their evacuation evac-uation from Singapore during World War II and the harrowing experiences they encountered. Mr. Robison has been our American Am-erican Consul to Shanghi, Tientsin, Singapore, Brisbon, Australia, Sid-' ney, Australia, Cairo and Port Elizabeth. South Africa. He is retired re-tired after thirty years service and he and his wife are now making their homoe in Carmel Valley, Calif. Geneve Wamick, Mrs. Marietta Mari-etta Gamett, Mrs. Arvilla Harvey, Mrs. Lydia Hilton, Mrs. Mae Jensen, Jen-sen, Mrs. Cleone Kirk, Mrs. Lucille Walker, Mrs. Ida West, Mrs. Edna Newman, Mrs. Lavina Fugal, Mrs. Maud Richards, Mrs. Oral Wrig'ht, and guests Mrs. Rhoda Stagg and Mrs. Ella Williams. Mrs. Paulson was assisted in serving a delicious lunch by her daughter Mary and Mrs. Patricia Bone. |
