Show 25 YEARS AGO In the Review From the Files of The Review Saturday, April 5, 1930 Some time ago a committee consisting con-sisting of Bishop Burton H. Adams, Ad-ams, James D. Thome, J. T. Williams, Will-iams, S. D. Moore, and Fred Foutz was selected to look over the Second Sec-ond Ward and choose a number of suitable sites for a ward chapel. On Tuesday evening at a general Ward Priesthood meeting, the various var-ious available sites were discussed. The old Presbyterian Church property prop-erty was finaUy agreed upon as being the most suitable. With some funds already available, avail-able, the balanoe sufficient to purchase pur-chase the property was raised at the meeting by popular subscription. subscrip-tion. Work on the new structure will begin at once, Bishop Adams said. On last Monday, the members of the Manila 4-H club met with assistant as-sistant county agent Anson B. ' Call and elected officers for the coming year. The new officers are as follows: president, Charles Warnick; leader, lead-er, Ivan Monson; vice president, Dean Atwood; secretary, Marvin Radmall, . and reporter, Calvin Swenson. Ballots were mailed out Wednesday Wednes-day to all members of the Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove Chamber of Commerce for the election of a board of directors dir-ectors for the coming year. Candidates Candi-dates listed on the ballots include Frank B. Newman, J. D. Thome, Harold Walker, Millen Radmall, Bert Cooper,, Abel Nielson, Basil Walker, Herman Parduhn, ,S. D. Moore, Clifford Tomlinson and Al-vin Al-vin . Nielson. Last Tuesday morning the water was turned out of the Pleasant Grove culinary system, in order that necessary repairs couldl be made. So many people called the old city officials to ascertain why there was no water in the pipes, that the Review was asked to publish pub-lish the names of the present city officers. They are, Mayor Lewis Olpin, Councilmen, Bert Bezzant, Clifton Clark, Leo Harvey, and Delbert Fugal; Recorder C. O. Newman and Treasurer Marie F. Smith. . |
