Show Emile J. Cances Chairman of Jaycee Sponsored Teen-Age Rodeo; Tests Slated for April 10 Emile J. Cances has been named general chairman for this year's Teen-age Road-e-o, with Sam Green, Fred Keetch, Ted Jones, and Jack Lee as assistants. All teen-age boys and girls who hold a driving permit or license arc eligible to enter the contest. Written tests will be given at the Pleasant Grove High School on April 10. Teen-agers who are not in school and want to enter, -:hould contact any member of the Jaycees and arrangements for 'he test will be made. The top ten in the written examination ex-amination will be eligible to enter the safe driving test on April 20, at 5 p.m. at the Timpanogos Stake Parking area. First thiee in the .safe-driving test are eligible for the state meet on May 7. The winner win-ner of the state meet will go on to competition at Washington, D.C. Police Chief Glen Newman will arrange ar-range for the judges for the driving driv-ing test. Placques to be given the first and second place winners m e being be-ing furnished by A. L. Ducket I, Provo, and the Motor Sales Co., of Pleasant Grove. Gift certificates are being provided for the first five winners by the following service ser-vice stations: Edward Roberts, Utoco; Sam Green, Mobil; Roy Ashs Chevron; Don Hales, liar-ley's liar-ley's Western ; and Spencer Merrill. Phillips 66. The official rues for the contest are as follows: 1. The contest is open to all persons per-sons who have not readied their twentieth birthday on or before the date of the final (lay of the National Nation-al Teen-Age Rod-e-o. 2. All persons having competed in previous National R.oad-e-o finals fin-als at Washington, D.C, are ineligible. in-eligible. 3. Entrants will be declared ineligible in-eligible if (a) they have been found guilty of a moving traffic violation within a six-month period prior to the local Road-e-o in which they are entered, (b) they are sons and daughters of the national sponsors of the National Teen-Age Paad-e-o. 4. Winners of local or slate Road-e-os who are guilty of a moving mov-ing traffic violation previous to competing in the state or national Road-e-os will be declared ineligible inelig-ible without exception. 5. In such cases as described in rule 4. the runner-up shall be declared de-clared the winner and eligible to compete in the state and or national nation-al Road-e-o. 6. Entrants in the State Road-e-o. shall have been certified by the local Poad-e-o committee as having hav-ing successfully competed in a local lo-cal Poad-e-o. 7. Only one finalist from each Jaycee State shall be eligible to enter the national competition. All finalists from countries outside the continental and territorial United States shall compete as honorary contestants only, ineligible inelig-ible for scholarship awards.
