Show Audubon Club Met March 3, Hear History of Eagle Forty-three youngsters were present pre-sent at the meetinsr of the Audu- bon Club March, 3, where Mrs. Ida Pierson chairman and Mrs. Vella Liston class leader, talked to the children about our National bird, the bald eagle. It was interesting to the young folks to learn that the bald eagle has been a military standard as far back as 104 B.C., and hear of our gold pieces, the golden eagle, half eagle and quarter eagle, and the eagle with outstpread wings has been our national emblem since 1885. All the children present received recei-ved their Audubon books and the club will be glad to receive pictures pict-ures and othe information on birds from onyone who would like to contribute. The next meeting will be held on March 17. |
