Show Lindon Council Conducts Business Thurs. Last Thursday at the regular meeting of the Lindon City Council. Coun-cil. Mayor Harold Keetch and the three councilmen present, Owen Hooley, Ray Walker and Verl Christiansen, voted to retain A. W. Walsar for the remainder of the year as Lindon's Justice of the Peace at a salary of $50 a month plus court costs. Besides hearing a routine report on road work and tree trimming from Reed Gillman, road worker, councilmen were informed and warned by Leonard Walker, city marshal, of threatening danger from juvenile speeding and disregarding- stop signs within the Lindon city limits. Councilmen agreed that Marshal Walker should be on the lookout for and put forth every effort to pick up all traffic violators. Because Marshal Walker ran short of dog tags this month, hav- ' ing sold the original order of 75, councilmen extended the time for licensing of dogs to April 1. Councilmen agreed to postpone the reading of water meters for another month when weather conditions con-ditions will better determine the time and need for readings. April 8-14, the second week in April, was set as Lindon's annual Spring- Clean-up Week. All residents resi-dents will be requested to have non - combustible rubbish in containers con-tainers that can be handled comfortably. com-fortably. Rubish will be picked up on Saturday the 14th of April. The Mayor announced that the civil defense siren atop the Lindon Lin-don School would be tested the second Saturday of every month at 5 p.m. Marshal Walker will do the testing. |
