Show Party Held by High Priests Friday, March 9 Two hundred fifty High Priests, their partners and widows of former for-mer High Priests of Timpanogos Stake were royally entertained at the annual Quorum banquet last Friday night in the Stake House. Festivities got underway soon after 7:00 p.m., with the serving of a sumptous steak, mashed potatoes pota-toes and brown gravy dinner; topped top-ped off with sherbet and cake. During the evening special honor hon-or was accorded! the retiring Timpanogos Tim-panogos Stake Quorum officers H. V. Swenson, President; Neil Fugal, First Assistant; Paul Blackhurst, Second Assistant and Clarence Wright, Secretary. Following the dinner Quorum President Reed O. Walker very ably conducted an interesting and humorous progrram. The following numbers were very well received by the large audience present: Victor Vicklund sang the Bass solo, "When the Bell in the Light House Rings Ding Dong," and fav- orably impresed the listenerrs with the depth and1 richness of his voice. His accompaniment was Mrs. Lorraine Lor-raine Ruffell. Rulon Brimhall entertained on the accordion with a series of well known and favorite melodies. Holding Mike and Rastus on his lap, Ventriloquist Robert Morton engaged in a lively verbal repartee with the two sharp-witted characters. char-acters. Singing old time melodies, Bishop Bish-op Elwood Allen and his sister Mrrs. Lydia Hilton, aroused memories mem-ories of the songs that were enjoyed en-joyed years ago. "A Scandanavian's Description of a Basketball Game" by Niels Fugal was much enjoyed by the basketball conscious audience. Adding variety to the program, Irwin Jensen rendered a Piano-logue, Piano-logue, which he termed "Silhouette". "Silhou-ette". It depicted humorous incidents inci-dents in the family life of the retiring re-tiring Quorum officers. For the concluding program number, Mrs. John Fugal directed a one-act comedy which was very well received. The actors were Bishop Boyd Seely, Mrs. Dale Seely, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Walker and Ovid Jeppson. The excellent diner was served by the Third Ward Relief Society, as a building fund activity. |
