Kay Jacobs and Carma Wadley have been selected as editors of the Viking Views In The News. YEAR BOOK Hurrah! The year book is nearing completion and there is only one more week of anxious wating until it comes out. The editors, Beverly, Ellen and Jean announced that the date is set for May 8. There are many pleasant surprises in store for us, as it is said to be the best we've had. GIRLS' DAY Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves them-selves very much today "Girls' day." An assembly was presented by the girls this morning which proved to 'be both 'interesting and entertaining. At noon, after the assembly, as-sembly, they served the boys a delicious de-licious luncheon. Tonight in the school gym, a barn dance will be held, at which the girls will finish their festive affair by taking the boys and seeing that they enjoy themselves. SENIOR SLUFF DAY A gay time was had by the seniors who attended the annual "Senior Sluff Day" at Saratoga, Wednesday, April 29, 1942. Miss Fenton, one of the senior class divsors, chaperoned the party. BIUSIC FESTIVAL The annual music festival for region three will be held at Lincoln, Friday and Saturday, May 1 and 2. All solos, vocal and instrumental, will be held on Friday. The bands, orchestras and glees are scheduled to perform on Saturday. Tile directors are Mr. Jensen and Mr. Royle. AWARD ASSEMBLY Award assembly has 'been set for May 12. On this day those students who have been outstanding in scholarship, schol-arship, athletics, speech, debate, music, mu-sic, as well as executive officers and students in other activities who have been outstanding during the year will receive awards. RESULTS OF INVITATIONAL MEET In spite of the weather, the students stu-dents who took part in the invitational invita-tional track meet April 24 and 25 at Provo, enjoyed it very much. They were very successful in taking two first places in the relay, second in the 440 and Vervene Monson took second in the baseball throw. The girls who took part were: Ruth-Brown, Ruth-Brown, Eloise Richards, Gwen Lee, Arlene Ash, Glenda Richards, Gale Walker, Ruth Beck, Donna Marie Marrott. The tennis players were: Ireen Carlson, Carma Wadley and Hazel Hardman. The boys who won places were: Lloyd Walker, second in high hurdles and first in the broad jump for the senior high. In the junior high Jack Westover, fourth in the broad jump, George Dalton fourt hin 200-yard dash, and John Swenson fifth in the 220-yard dash. |
