Show WARD HONORS PARENTS OF SOLDIERS Last Sunday evening in connection connec-tion with Sacrament meeting, Lin-don Lin-don ward under direction of the bishopric, held a testimonial for the parents of all men in the U. S. armed forces. The opening song was "America," and invocation was asked by Albert Anderson. Sacrament song, "I Know That My Redeemer Lives," with Alroy Gillman as soloist; trombone solo, Earl A. Beck Jr., accompanied by Jennie Gleason; tribute to the boys in service by A. P. Warnick; trumpet solo, Barbara Kooyman, accompanied by LaRael Olson. Mrs. Gillman, accompanied by Garth Gillman, sang "Boy Of Mine." The parents of the boys in the service were introduced by Bishop Jesse K. Thorne. Mrs. May R. Walker, accompanied by Mrs. Mabel Ma-bel King, sang "God Bless the U. S. A.," after which Ray Walker, the next man in the ward to join the army, spoke briefly. Closing number was "God Bless America." Benediction was by C. J. Cobbley and taps was sounded. The parents honored were Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Wright, parents of Newell Wright; Mr. and Mrs. La Mar Green, parents of Howard Green; Mr. and Mrs. Rolland Smith, parents of Leon Smith; Mr. and Mrs. Wrenard Tomlinson, parents of Lloyd Tomlinson; Elisha Mayhew, father of Everett Mayhew; Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Keetch, parents of Wesley Keetch; Mr. and Mrs. Amasa Mecham, parents of Alfred Mecham, and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Fryer, parents of LeRoy Fryer. |
