Show Explorers, Scouts Slate Banquet Explorers and Scouts of the Third ward are planning a banquet for Saturday night and an inspirational inspiration-al program and court of honor for Sunday evening, it was announced by Calvin Walker, Explorer leader. The parents of the Scouts will be guests of honor at the banquet which is being prepared by the boys assisted by their mothers. A pot-pouri pot-pouri wherein parents will try out the various Scout activities such as estimating, fire by friction, cooking cook-ing (making of pan cakes), tent pitching, and signalling, is being arranged. Scout Executive Anderson and other officials of the Utah National Parks Council are expected to give inspirational talks- The banquet will be held in the ward amusement hall at 7:30 p. m. On Sunday night the mothers of the Scouts will be especially honored. hon-ored. Two of their number will award the badges to twenty-one Scouts and Scouters who have made advancement. These awards include First Honors, Arrowheads, Star, Second Sec-ond class and numerous merit badges. Speakers will be Mrs. Emily Ped-erson, Ped-erson, Mrs. Priscilla Christiansen, Mrs. Nora Macfarlane, and Mrs-Thomas Mrs-Thomas Walker. Musical numbers will include troop singing and several instrumental instru-mental numbers arranged by the boys. |
