Show u CHARLES KING AND BESSIE LOVE COMING TO THE PROVO PARAMOUNT I v, ' i EH - - $ i - j- v . i If- I CHADLE5 KING and feESSIE LOVe' in "CHAFING DAINC'JW " Five song hits from the pianos of seven of America's most popular composers provide the tuneful background back-ground of "Chasing Rainbows," musical musi-cal extravaganza which! comes to Provo Paramount Theatre for a run of three days starting Tuesday, Feb. 4th. with Charles King and Bessie Love in the featured roles. Milton Ager and Jack Yellen noted not-ed for their "Ain't She Sweet", "I Wonder What Became of Sally," "Forgive Me," "Crazy Words" and "Hard-Hearted Hannah," wrote "Lucky me, Lovable You,'" "Everybody "Every-body Tap" and "Happy Days Are Here Again" especially for the new Metro-Gold wyn-Mayer production. "Everybody Tap" fits into a huge dancing ensemble with Miss Love singing and dancing the number with the trained chorus of two hundred boys and girls. "Lucky Me, Lovable You" is the love song sung by Charles King and Miss Love and "Happy Days Are Here Again" in the musical setting for the finale spectacle, filmed film-ed in Technicolor. Iew Alter, who wrote "Manhattan Serenade," composed "f-ove Ain't Nothing But the Blues" with Joe Goodwin, which' King uses as a specialty spec-ialty song. Fred Fisher, George Ward and Reggie Montgomery joined in writing "My Dynamic Personality" in which Marie Dresser scores. , All of the song hits were written to meet the demand of the original story, penned by Bess Meredyth and adapted for the screen by Wells Root. So catchy and impressive were the song numbers that four phonograph phono-graph companies signed record contracts con-tracts berorc the musical movie was even finished by Charles F. (Chuck) Riesner, who last directed "The Hollywood Revue of 1929". Included in the supporting cast of the backstage comedy-drama are Jack Benny, Polly Moran, Gwen Ix;e, George K. Arthur, Eddie Phillips and Nita Martan. This is the second appearance of Miss Love and King opposite each other. Th.ey first played together in "Broadway Melody". |
