Show Everything Ready For Second Ward Celebration' Arrangements for the American Fork Second ward's three day opening open-ing celebration for their new chapel and Firmage Amusement Hall are now completed, and the entire community com-munity can feel assured that not only will they be afforded a treat by the viewing of the new building, but will be royally entertained during the opening. The following scheduled program of the activities for the three days gives in detail the good things planned: plann-ed: SUNDAY, FEB. 2. Sunday School exercises at 9:55 a. m. Besides special music from an orchestra, Bishop Joseph H. Storrs and President S. L. Chipman will give short talks. Class work for 30 minutes only will be taken up. Besides the Fast Day meeting at 12 o'clock, the feature of the day is the program for the evening, under the direction of the M. I. A. PROGRAM: Piano solo Helen Moffett. Reading Francis Foster. String quartet Leland Priday and others. Vocal solo Edna Stewart. History of Ward President C. E. Young. MONDAY, FEB. 3. A big chicken dinner at noon will open the day. This will be directed and served by the ward members of the Old Folks committee in the new banquet hall located in the basement of the amusement hall section. Fifty cents a plate is being charged. 2 to 6 p. m. Bazar. Dresses, aprons and all kinds of ladies and childrens1 wearing app'l. Candy, pop corn, fishing pond, and hot dog booths along with other attractions will be in progress all afternoon, j 8 p. m. 3-act comedy "SEVEN j CHANCES" under the direction of Mrs. Maud C. Christen sen. This is a sparkling comedy, full of clever dio-, logue, quick action and amusing situ-' ations which continue to grow until the last curtain. The cast is made up of Alton Storrs, Eldred Nicholes, ! Harris Chipman, Henry Chipman, Robert Clarke, Luzelle Chipman, M'aurine Christensen, Nora Storrs, Helen Young, Naomi Halliday, Betha Storrs, Helen Clarke, Eileen Chipman and Edith Young. Admission, 25 and 35c. An orchestra will be in attendance for Monday's features. TUESDAY, FEB. 4. 12 o'clock Chicken dinner. 2 to 6 p. m. Bazar again continued. continu-ed. 4 p. m. Childrens' party. 9 p. jn. Dancing party. A feature of this concluding event will be traffic dances, get acquainted dance, grand marclv, prize waltz, lemon dance, prize fox trot and many others. A ten piece orchestra under the direction of Vern Walker will furnish fur-nish the dance music. The ward now possesses one of the most complete and finest church and amusement centers in the city. They feel extremely proud of the unit and invite everyone to come and see it during the three-day celebration. n |
