Show Mrs. Earl Dean of Salt Lake City, visited last week here with her parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Edwards. Mrs. Roy Myers of Eureka, visited the week-end here with her Bister, Mrs. Ruben Chipman, and family. Mrs. S. T. Baker is reported to be very much on the improve, after a three months illness. In honor of the sixth birthday anniversary anni-versary of her son, Nash, Mrs. Jame M. Grant entertained fourteen of nelson's nel-son's friends Tuesday a'lernoon. After enjoying sanies and other sports, refreshments re-freshments were served. Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Chipman entertained en-tertained the members of the Jr. Seminary at a sleighriding party Thursday afternoon following class work. Twenty three, including Mr. and Mrs. Chipman, the class officers and members, enjoyed a thrilling ride on the Chipman "schooner". Following the Mutual meeting Tuesday evening the Gleaner girls and "M" Men of the Fourth ward enjoyed en-joyed a sleighriding party. The winter sport was enjoyed until late in the evening, when they were served serv-ed a hot chilli supper at the home of Mrs. Helen Walker, one of the Gleaner Glean-er girls' instructors. There were thirty who participated in the gay affair. Mrs. W. R. Greenwood entertained at a well-arranged dinner Monday evening in compliment to her brother Andrew Greenwood, who left Wednesday Wed-nesday for his home in Los Angeles, California, after a two months visit here. Besjdes the members of the immediate family, covers were marked mark-ed for M'r. and Mrs. Lafe S'axton of Goldhill, Nevada, Mrs. Grace Buchanan, Buch-anan, Mr. and Mrs. James Julian and Mrs. Sarah J. Crystall. Mrs. B. N. Christeneen and daughter, daugh-ter, Maurine, Mrs. Martha Buckwalter and Miss Betha Storrs, were among the visitors in Salt Lake on Thursday. Mrs. Leo T. Steele, who has been confined to his bed with rheumatism the past three weeks, is still unable to resume his work at the Chipman Mercantile Co., where he is head of the Shoe Department. Sliss Lenore Crookston of this city, and a popular student of the Brig-ham Brig-ham Young University, was one of the Violas personnell in the series of concerts given by the B. Y. XJ. symphony sym-phony orchestra under the direction of Prof. LeRoy J. Robertson, in College hall, during Leadership week In addition to being active in musical musi-cal circles, Miss Crookston is prominent promi-nent socially, being a member of the Nautilus Social unit of that institution. The Primary officers of the Second ward entertained last Friday evening in honor of Mrs. Thelma Lamoreaux, Mrs. Florence Parker and Miss Edith Young, who have recently resigned from that organization. The social was held at the home of Mrs. J. W. Myers. Games were enjoyed, followed follow-ed by a tasty repast. A gift was presented pre-sented to eaih of the former workers in appreciation for their services. There were twenty present, including the officers and teachers of the organization. |
