Show Covered Wagon Days Greeters Descendants of the original party of Brigham Young and his 1847 pioneers pio-neers will serve as Salt Lake City hostesses during the Covered Wagon Days celebration there July 22, 23, 24 and 25. They are, top to bottom, bot-tom, Marjorie Judd, Frances Rogers, Mary Creer 'and Dorothy Dentcn, all University of Utah students. Stcry of Utah Cavalcade John Charles Thomas, famous American baritone, and distinguished distinguish-ed star of opera, concert, and radio, will be heard singing hymns of praise of Utah's pioneers when he appears as guest star in the production produc-tion of "Utah Cavalcade" a dramatic drama-tic panorama of events .in Utah history. his-tory. The celebration will last July 22, 23, 24 and 25. In addition to the Utah Cavalcade, Mr. Thomas will appear in a special concert. With two exceptions, he is the highest priced artist ever to appear in Salt Lake City. The Utah Cavalcade which tells the story 'of the state in dancing with 150 artists, music with two military mil-itary bands and an orchestra, in singing with eight choruses and an asemble of four hundred voices, and in tableau with. a cavalcade of electrical elec-trical floats, is just one of the attractions at-tractions of the big celebration. There will be four days of rodeo at the State Fair Grounds, daily street parades, street carnivals, dancing, drum corps competition, bands, music, decorations, and on July 25, a whole day of tribute to pioneers and to old folks. Admission will be charged only to the rodeo and the Utah Cavalcade. o |
