Show Local Items Mr. and Mrs. Harold Goode loft Tuesday morning for Fish Lake. They will be gone about a week. William Hansen is slowly improving im-proving at his home from an illness of several weeks duration. Wayne McTague has been working work-ing for the past two weeks at the J. C. Penney store at Springville while Mr. and Mrs. Morris Davies are vacationing in Yellowstone. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Satlar of Stockton and Mrs. Charles Graham of Susanville, California, are visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Moral ZabrLskie. The Happy Go Lucky 4-H club members met Tuesday at the home of Mrs. C. J. Gaisford and prepared cold drinks. They also planned a hike when they will cook a complete breakfast, for the club project. Kay, the small son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Walton, fell on the rocks at Mutual Dell Saturday and received a broken arm. Kay was spending the holiday in the canyon with his parents. Miss Betha Storrs is in the Lehi hospital receiving treatment as a result re-sult of a relapse and general breakdown. break-down. Miss Storrs had not fully recovered re-covered from injuries received in a fall at the Alpine school several months ago and was visiting at Mutual Dell when she suffered this attack. Mrs. Charlotte Britton celebrated her 70th birthday anniversary at her home Sunday at a prettily arranged birthday dinner, her sons, daughters and 16 grandchildren all being present. pres-ent. Mr. and Mrs. George Vamey of this city and Mrs. Ruth Taylor of Springville were also guests of the day. The table was decorated with roses and shasta daisies, the centerpiece center-piece being a large cake with 70 candles on. Mrs. Maria Olsen of Washington, D. C, is visiting at the home of her son, Alma Olsen, and family. Mr. and Mrs. John Laycock announce an-nounce the arrival of a baby girl at their home July 3. Mother and babe are doing nicely. Mrs. Emma Chase returned to her home in Salt Lake after spending two weeks at the home of her sister, Mrs. Samuel Grant and family. . Mr. and Mrs. Moral Zabriskie and children left Thursday for Fish Lake where they will stay for a week's vacation. George A. Storrs of Salt Lake spent the 4th and remainder of the week-end with relatives in this city. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Baker and family visited last Saturday with friends in Beaver. Mr. and Mrs. Baker are former residents of that city. Mr. and Mrs. Don Wagstaff are the proud parents of a baby boy born Saturday, July 4th, at the Lehi hospital. All concerned are doing nicely. Mr. and Mrs. Ira Miller and family fami-ly of Brea, and Mrs. Ethel Miller Foster and family of Hollywood, Calif., are visiting with relatives in this city. Mrs. June Wright, Mrs. Lyle Grant, and Glen Wright motored to Salt Lake City Sunday and visited at the home of Mi: and Mrs. Jess Duff in. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Brown returned re-turned home Sunday from a vacation vaca-tion trip to San Barnardina, Calif., where they visited with Webb Brown and family. Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Grant motored mot-ored to Salt Lake last week and visited with Mrs. Grant's brother, George Ovard. Mr. Ovard's home is in McGraff,' Canada, but is staying in Utah for a few months because of ill health. He will visit in American Amer-ican Fork before returning home. Miss Edith Thornton left Tuesday Tues-day evening for Los Angeles where she will join her sister, Mrs. Jennie Grenwood for a trip through the Northwest returning home by way Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Frazee and daughter, Kay, of Moreland are visiting at the home of Mrs. Annie Newton and George Pierce. Mrs. Peter G. Clarke of McGraff, Canada, is visiting for two weeks with relatives in this city. Mrs. C. L. Jessen and four daughters daugh-ters of Kingston, are visiting at the home of Mrs. Jessen's father, John Jacklin. Mr. -and Mrs. Harold Anderson of Orem and Miss Beth Cneever 'of this city spent the Fourth of July at Grandtaddy Lakes. Douglas Haney, Ralph Sills and Robert Bailey of Yakima, Washington, Washing-ton, are visiting at the 'home" of' Mr. and Mrs. Ray Olsen. Mr. Haney is a nephew of Mr. Olsen. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Tregaskis and Mr. and Mrs. John Robinson left Friday for a trip to the Pacific Northwest, down the coast to San Francisco and home. They will be gone about ten days. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Osterloh motored motor-ed to Price Tuesday and spent the day attending to business matters. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Howes left this morning by train for a trip through the Northwest. They will visit at the many points 'cf interest in Washington, Oregon, California and British Columbia for a month. They will return by way of Los Angeles. The members of the Lions club met at the State Training School Thursday evening for their regular meeting. Dr. H. H. Ramsay was in charge of the program following the business meeting and conducted a clinic showing slides to illustrate the various phases of his discussion. Musical numbers were furnished by Word was received early this week from Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Grant that they were visiting at Palmyra and other historical places of the L. D. S. Church. They are enjoying their trip very much and expect to return home the last of this week. The G. A. Ladies and their husbands hus-bands held their annual summer outing in American Fork canyon Thursday evening of last week. There were ten couples present and all enjoyed a steak fry and social chat. Mr. and Mrs. I. L. Pratt, Miss Almeda Pratt, Harold Pratt, Mr. and Mrs. Myron Briggs and son, Mr. and Mrs. Weston Pratt and three children, Mr. and Mrs. Max Pratt and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. John Despain and Mr. and Mrs. George Brown and son spent Sunday at Mirror Lake. Among the American Fork people attending the funeral services held Sunday at Cedar Valley for Clarence Ault were, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Ault, Mr. and Mrs. Stanford Briggs, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Winn, President C. E. of Yellowstone park. Earl Anderson accompanied Miss Thornton as far as Los Angeles and will 'drive her car back home from there. Miss Virginia Brown of Salt Lake City spent the past week-end at the heme of her mother, Mrs. Lillian Lil-lian K. Brown. Virginia lived in Arizona during the winter months, visiting in California at the home of her brother, Webb Brown, before returning home about three weeks ago. She is now working in Salt Lake. Word was received early this week from Miss Ann Clayson stating that she had arrived safely at the mission headquarters in New York City and that she was enjoying her many new and varied experiences. She will remain at the offioe until after the 24th of this month when a field of labor will be assigned. She has also had the pleasure of meeting many former acquaintances and friends from the Brigham Young University Univer-sity who are going to school and living in New York. She will make her first appearance on the violin at the evening services next Sunday. the children of the school. Mark Allen assisted Dr. Rams-ay. Junior Halliday, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Halliday, is in a serious ! condition at the L. D. S. hospital ! as a result of an operation early 1 Monday. The operation was for the removal' of a growth that had attached at-tached itself to the eye. The last report Thursday as this paper went to press was that he was still unconscious. Young, Mrs. A. E. Tracy, Miss Alice Jacklin, Dr. Guy Richards. Mrs. Ida Gardner of Provo entertained enter-tained last week-end for her mother, Mrs. T. S. Kelly, Mrs. Ann L. Chip-man, Chip-man, Mrs. Jane C. Robinson and Mrs. George Varney of this city, and Mrs. Vilate Clarke of McGraff, Canada. The ladies motored to Provo Thursday and were feted at several social functions including a dinner on Friday at the home of Mrs. Guelda Elsmore Clitheroe. They all report having enjoyed the trip immensely. Mr. and Mrs. Marius Madsen celebrated cele-brated their 50th wedding anniversary anniver-sary Saturday, July 4th, at Saratoga. Family members and close friends gathered at the resort and enjoyed the day with a supper served early in the evening. Those present were Mrs. Florence Palmer, a daughter, of Detroit; Mr. and Mrs. William Prestwick and family and Mr. and Mrs. Morris Holmstead, Lehi; Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Webb and family, Sandy; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Ray and family, Bingham; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Holmstead, Mr. and Mrs. i Norman Holmstead, Mr. and Mrs. George Holmstead, Mr. and Mrs. O.
