Show Tentative Poultry-Turkey Day Programs Announced Committees are fast whipping things into shape for. the. big Poultry-Turkey Day celebration here August Hth, and this week the tentative ten-tative day's program was announced. A program designed, to. entertain upwards up-wards of 10,000 people is outlined and will commence early and continue con-tinue through the day and night to 2 a. m. Features of the day will be salute, band concert at 9 &. m., gigantic parade at 10 a., m.. Poultry Show, 11:30 a. m., free chicken sandwiches at noon, possibly an air circus, with plenty of stunt. Dying and parachute drops at 3:30,. sports, parade repeated at 7 p. m-,. fireworks, novel show and car drawing, 8:00 to 9:30 p. m., and a final, open air grand ball from 9:30 p. m.. to 2 a. m. Intermixed with these are concession entertainment, entertain-ment, band concerts, etc., etc. The committees named thus far consist of. General committee A. F. The grand award of the celebration, celebra-tion, a new 1936 Ford Tudor Sedan, secured thru the cooperation of the American Fork Motor, arrived yes-teiday yes-teiday and is on display in the business section. The first weekly cash awards are to be made Saturday, Satur-day, July 11, at 3:30 p. m. Interest in the celebration is fast mounting and all citizens are eagerly looking forward to this most galia event hi our city's history. No money or time is being spared this year in providing the greatest day's program ever outlined for a celebration here. Citizens are urged to utalize a special post card invitation to friends, relatives and former residents resi-dents to join in the city's homecoming home-coming and celebration. These cards can be secured at the local pbstoffice and only need a name and address to go out. r |
