Show COLLEGE MAN DISCUSSES TURKEY GROWING Logan Byron Alder, professor of poultry husbandry at the Utah State Agricultural college gave lectures Wednesday and Thursday concerning concern-ing problems of the poultry and turkey growers in meetings at Pleas-and Pleas-and Grove high school, Payson, and American Fork. Wednesday evening, Professor Al- : der discussed poultry problems at I Pleasant Grove. His talk centered on "Feed as a problem in reducing poultry costs," and "Problems of breeding in getting a higher grade of poultry." At 1:30 p. m. Thursday he met the turkey growers of American Fork, where he discussed turkey projects and research facts. By charts and statistics of turkey projects he explained ex-plained the "comparative rate of growth, and cost of producing as affected by the percentage of protein pro-tein in ration." He also compared the rate of growth and costs of production per pound of turkey with one ration consisting completely of a definite quantity of yellow corn, and another consisting only of barley. |
