The Genealogical committee of the Second ward h2ld a social and dance at the Second ward Amusement Amuse-ment Hall Thursday evening. Miss Lola Bullock and children of Pleasant Grove were guests Friday of Mrs. Bullock's sister, Mrs. Ann R. Lewis, at Lindon. Mrs. Edah Allred is visiting indefinitely in-definitely in Salt Lake City at the home of her daughters, Mrs. Lucia Cutler and Mrs. Berniece Anderson. Mr. and Mrs. Liston Bray and daughter, Barbara, and James But-terfield But-terfield of Bingham, were guests Tuesday of Mrs. Hattie Bezzant of Lindon. Mr. and Mrs. Howard N. Thome and family of Salt Lake City, were guests of relatives here Sunday. Mrs. Mary Wadley, who has been ill for the past ten days is reported to be improving in health. Little Miss Barbara Jean Carson of Spring canyon spent the past week-end with her aunt, Mrs. Helen Carson. Varion West's small son, who is afflicted with spinal meningitis is reported to be improving slowly. Mr. and Mrs. Arlan Bastian and Mr. and Mrs. Reed Coulam of Twin Falls, Idaho, visited from Sunday till Thursday with relatives here. Mrs. Marie Park and small son and Mrs. Ella Williams and son were guests of Mrs. Rhoda Stagg and Mrs. Millie Poulson, Sunday. Miss Margaret Stagg, employed in the schools of Tooele, spent the week-end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. wniiam Stagg. S. L. Roberteon and son, Earl, Mrs. Condon and Miss Bigelow of Ogden, were dinner guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Robertson. Mr. and Mrs'. H. S. Robertson and family visited Monday with Bill Peterson of this city who is at the St. Marks hospital in Salt Lake City for medical treatment. Mr. and Mrs. Erving Johnson and Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Johnson were in Salt Lake City Wednesday to visit with Mrs. Lyean Johnson and baby at the L. D. S. hospital. I Mr. and Mrs. Lester G. West an-I an-I nounce the marriage of their son, Mrs. Roxie Green, Mrs. Hattie Bezzant and Leo Bezzant were guests of Mrs. Guy Walker at her home in Provo Thursday. Mrs. Mary Cooper and daughter, Amy, visited last week with relatives in Salt Lake City and Ogden. They arrived home Wednesday evening. The marriage of Iola Jensen, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Jensen, and Derral Walker, son of Mrs. Cyn-tha Cyn-tha Walker of this city, has recently recent-ly been announced. The G. A- A. girls of the Pleasant Grove high school entertained at a social Wednesday evening in honor of their (instructor, Miss 'Arvilla Clark, who is a bride of this week and who is leaving her school work. A program, games and refreshments were enjoyed. A beautiful gift was presented to Miss Clark by the girls- l Shelby, and Grace Hunsaker of Hol-brook, Hol-brook, Idaho. Mr. West has been a student of the U. S. A. C, and prominent prom-inent in athletics. ; Mr. and Mrs. Lyean Johnson are rejoicing over the arrival of a winsome win-some baby daughter at the L.' D. S. hospital in Salt Lake City Sunday afternoon. Mother and daughter are doing nicely and Mayor Johnson is all smiles. Lloyd West is temporarily employed employ-ed as helper of engineers McClelland, McClel-land, Widman and Dinker, at Timpanogos Tim-panogos Cave " making plans for Mrs. David Cooper of Duchesne has been visiting part of the past week with her daughter, Mrs. L. A. Clark, and family. Mrs. Josie Walker was hostess to the ladies of the Mother's club Thursday afternoon. Mrs. H. P-Jones P-Jones was in charge of the program. Miss LaPriel Oscarson entertained her Primary boys who graduated from Primary work recently- The boys were Samuel Green, Kay Jacobs, Ja-cobs, Kayle Bullock and Gordon Or-ton Or-ton and their four little girl friends. Games and refreshments were en- joyed. Mr. and Mrs. Mark Richins and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Gilles will entertain en-tertain at a wedding reception and dance in the Vineyard Amusement hall Saturday evening, March 7, in honor of the marriage of Bernice Van Wagoner and Howard Gilles, who were married Saturday. Four hundred relatives and friends are invited. Mr. and Mrs. Sterling Skinner, Miss Merle Boulton, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Boulton of Bingham; Clyde Gillman and family, Mr. and Mrs. John Gillman and Fern McCandlass of Salt Lake, were among the out of town guests who were present at the Gillman family reunion at Lindon Lin-don hall last Thursday evening. The following young people formed form-ed a swimming party and motored to the Municipal Baths north of Salt Lake City Friday evening. Oswald and Lawrence Farr and Joseph Clayson, and the Misses Ruth Walker, Winnefred Farr and Venice Hanson. Mrs. Gladys Hooley was guest of honor at a well arranged social last Friday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Viola Harris. Mrs. Dora Harris and Mrs. Ruby Fryer assisted Mrs. Harris. Games and social chat was enjoyed. A delicious tray luncheon was enjoyed by, Mrs. Dewey Adams, Mrs. Rhoda Walker, Mrs. Ray Gillman, Gill-man, Mrs. Dick Anderson, Mrs. Roxie Rox-ie Green, Mrs. Hazel Fryer, Mrs. Hattie Bezzant, Mrs. Ella Williams, Mrs..Alta Harris, Mrs. Jennie Allred Mrs. A. The Misses Donna Richins and Helen Gillies entertained at a kitchen kitch-en shower Saturday afternoon at the Richins home in honor of Bernice Van Wagoner, a bride of the week. The afternoon was spent in games and social chat. Mrs. J. A. Dickerson has been visiting part of the jast week with her son and daughter-in-.law, Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Dickerson at Logan, Lo-gan, and her sister at Ogden. She arrived home Monday night. Eldon Johnson reports that the road in American Fork canyon is clear to South Fork so that autos can go that far into the canyon. He made' the 2 miles to Terminal' or Ski's to inspect the cabin and ore receiving station there. He says "plenty of snow in this district." Mrs. Thel Walker was pleasantly surprised Saturday evening when a group of relatives and friends arrived ar-rived with picnic and plans for an evening's fun. Those included in the party were, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer York, Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Swenson, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Walker, Mr. and Mrs. Orin Walker, Mr. and Mrs. j Rodney Walker, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Clar-ence Smith and Warren Walker. Mrs. Martha Canham of Pleasant Grove, and Samuel O. Strong of Alpine, Al-pine, were married at the Salt Lake temple Tuesday. A dinner was given giv-en in their honor Wednesday evening eve-ning by Mrs. Canham's daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Morgan, at Salt Lake City. Other guests from Pleasant Grove were, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Theobald. On Thursday evening Mr. Strong's daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ira Peterson, of Salt Lake City, gave a dinner in honor of the newly-weds. newly-weds. They will make their home in Alpine. Kirk, Mrs. Fern Nicholes, Mrs. Leone Told, Mrs. Ethel West, the Misses Josephine West, Marjorie Holdaway, La Priel Myers and Emma Em-ma Bush. - Mrs. Emily Wright Tyler, Mrs. Ruth Peterson Smith and Miss Estelle Fenton entertained at a bridge tea shower Monday evening at the H. L Wright home in honor of Miss Arvilla Clark, a bride of the week. St. Patrick's day motifs were featured in the place cards and in the menu. Progressive bridge was enjoyed during the evening, Ruth Mosley won first prize and Helen Smith claimed the consolation prize.
