Show j Ten Years Ago ; Now ; (Taken from files of March 6, 1926) The Pleasant Grove basketball boys, runner-up in the Alpine division, divi-sion, won a 29 to 24 victory over Springville, Nebo runner-up, in the fiercely contested game played in the high school gym at Provo Wednesday Wed-nesday night. This victory assures the team of a place in the state tournament. Ten Years Ago Now The Boy Scout officials of Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove are sponsoring a series of five weekly "Boy Scout Leadership" meetings. Last week Executive A. A. Anderson was present and effected effec-ted an organization in each ward, each group having a name and emblem em-blem as follows: Pleasant Grove First, Sagebrush; Second, Pine Tree; Third, Owl; Lindon, Strawberry; Windsor, Eagle; Manila, Farmers. Ten Years Ago Now Plans have been completed to commence the work replacing the old wooden pipes which were placed in the city waterworks system at the time of its installation. The project will furnish work for a large number num-ber of citizens. ' Ten Years Ago Now The reunion of the three wards of Pleasant Grove was held Saturday Satur-day night and was well attended by members and former members of these wards. After the program, dancing was enjoyed. Ten Years Ago Now This week four carloads of ice has been shipped from Colton to fill the ice house of the A. K. Thornton Company. The ice is 18 inches thick and seems to be nice and solid. Ten Years Ago Now The M Men of the Manila ward entertained at a Fathers and Sons banquet Wednesday evening. The entire program was planned and all arrangements made by membe,rs of this class. Places at table were laid far 30. |
