Show Protests House Bill No. 4 Employers of one and two persons are practically unanimous in denouncing provisions in House Bill No. 4 which provides for workmen's compensation and The State Insurance Fund. Employment in small places do not carry the type of risk found in mines, mills, factories, etc. and insurance of the nature designed in the new bill is not necessary, it is felt. Other provisions in this same bill are far too stringent to fit the conditions and will work a hardship on employers and employees, which in many cases will result in loss of employment altogether. Employment is more essential at this time than ever before. Legislation of a constructive nature is needed more today than, ever before. Our legislators should favor only solid, practical laws which will tend to bring us out of this depression. Our greatest need is more employment and industry, now, today. |
