Show HIGH SCHOOL NEWS By Kayle Linebaugh The basketball teams are drilling very hard, preparing for the games Friday night wdien we venture into Lehi's "stomping grounds". But Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolverines? Wol-verines? (we're not.) It is usually the team that is recognized as a weak team that up-sets the dope. It may be that P. G. will trip the strong Lehi crew. Speech Department Students have been very enthusiastically enthus-iastically working on extemporaneous extemporane-ous speeches, orations and debates. The winners in each division will go to Weber Junior college on February 15th to represent tire school. Those trying out in the extemporaneous extempor-aneous speeking contest are: Rhea Freeman, Naomi Driggs, Lecta Linebaugh, Line-baugh, Rex Gourley, Venice Lund-berg Lund-berg and Kayle Linebaugh. Those participating in the oratori- cal contest are: Helen Warnick, Eva Kirk, Beth Anderson, Annie Gardiner, Gardi-ner, Jennie Hone and LeOra Walker. Debating participants are: Ruth Greene, Erva Wright, Madge Kirk, Dan Smith, Alfred Dexter, Ray Mills and Kayle Linebaugh. Two teams, four in all, will be chosen as the debating teams. The winners chosen are: Jennie Hone, orational; Rex Gourley, extemporaneous ex-temporaneous speaking, and Alfred Dexter and Dan Smith debating. I |
