Show Miner Killed At Bingham Buried Here Daniel Brewer, 39, husband of Lo-retta Lo-retta Nielsen Brewer, formerly of this city, and a son-in-law of Adolph Nielsen of American Fork, was killed kill-ed Sunday afternoon while timbering timber-ing in- the Utah-Apex Mining company's com-pany's gold mine hi Carr Fork, in Bingham. Mr. Brewer and another miner, Ray Thomas, 30, were crushed crush-ed to death by a 15 ton slab of ore which fell on them while they were timbering on the 1100 foot level of the mine. As soon as the accident occurred twenty-five other miners began timbering to hold back the mud and debris that the bodies of the victims could be removed. After 14 hours of labor the bodies were removed from the mine. Mr. Brewer was born in Moroni, March 8, 1896, a son of Mr. and Mrs. William Brewer. He resided here in his youth and attended the schools here. Following his marriage mar-riage to Miss Nielsen they made their home in Salt Lake and Bingham. Bing-ham. Surviving are his widow and six children, Mabel, Ruth Beverly, Kathleen, Verlaine, Daniel D. and Ross, and his father who resides at Mt. Pleasant. Funeral services were held in the Wells ward L. D. S. chapel in Salt Lake City at 1 p. m. Wednesday with Bishop J. F. Sheffield in charge, and interment was made in the city cemetery here. |
