A shower for Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Ed-mund Johnson was given last week at the home of the bride's uncle, John Jacklin, by Miss Alice Jacklin. Mrs. Johnson is the former Leah Brown of Ogden, daughter of Cyrus Brown, formerly of American Fork. Mr. Johnson is a former resident of Farmington, and the couple will make their home iin Willard. They were married Thursday of last week In the Salt Lake City L. D. S. temple, President Stephen L. Chip-man Chip-man performing the ceremony. J Mrs. J. W. Storrs of Los Angeles is visiting indefinitely with relatives here. Twelve women, immediate neighbors neigh-bors of Mrs. Thomas Crookston, surprised her with a party last week. The occasion was Mrs. Crookston's birthday anniversary. Mr. and Mi's. Frank Shatter of Bingham and Mrs. Oscar Koffard and daughter of Tremonton were week-end visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence A. Grant. Miss Lillian Ducenia of Ogden and George G. Smith, son of Mrs. Hattie Smith, were married May 14, at Lovelock, Nevada. Mrs. Smith gave a wedding party in their honor Saturday night, attended by 40 guests. Mr. Smith is employed at Green River at the present time, and they will make their home there temporarily. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Smith and Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Smith of San Diego, California, were here for the wedding party. Clarence A. Grant, Utah county clerk, who with a number of other officials from the county attended a convention of the National Association Asso-ciation of county officials at Rock Island, Illinois, returned Sunday night. On the ten-day trip, they went through New Mexico, Texas, and visited points of interest in connection with L. D. S. church history his-tory in Missouri. They spent two days in Chicago, and then attended the convention. The Utah delegation, delega-tion, the best representation from any outside state, was successful in getting next year's convention for Salt Lake City. On the trip, the group visited county buildings and officials, obtaining many valuable suggestions, Mr. Grant said. Mrs. John H. Miller and Verda, Marilyn, and Marie Miller spent Memorial day in Heber City with Mrs. Miller's mother, Mrs. C. Daniel-son. Daniel-son. Mrs. C. O. Strong of Salt Lake City visited with Jeanette Miller here Monday. Word has been received from Washington, D. C, of the birth of a son to Mr. and Mrs. Sterling Ped-erson. Ped-erson.
