Set For City's Gala Strawberry Festival Parade, Free Strawberries Dance, Wild Rodeo, Feature Seventeenth Annual Event Pleasant Grove, already wearing-gay wearing-gay holiday decorations, will lay aside its every-day work Wednesday to greet thousands of Central Utah, residents and celebrate the seventeenth seven-teenth annual Utah Strawberry day. From over the state, visitors are expected to gather to enjoy the hospitality hos-pitality for which Pleasant Grove , has made itself famous in past years I with brilliant celebrations. At the same time, the strawberry, important import-ant crop to the city, will be honored. hon-ored. A full program of parades, sports and dancing has been outlined, with carnival attractions as an added feature, to provide a fast-moving entertainment en-tertainment schedule for young and old. Highlight of the morning and evening will be the mammoth parade, pa-rade, centering around a "March of Time" theme. Something new in parades here in recent years, the mammoth parade is expected to bring out many beautiful floats and novel ideas. Special effort is being extended to build a good comic section, as a feature which is favored by the public. pub-lic. The Strawberry Queen, who will be selected by public vote, will appear ap-pear in the parade, beautifully gowned and gracing a special float-Other float-Other entries will be furnished by business concerns, civic and church ' groups, and others, who have assured as-sured splendid cooperation. The parade will be presented promptly at 10 a. m., the line of march traversing the downtown sec.-, tion. It wall be repeated again in-the in-the evening, at 7 o'clock. Known far and wide for the serving serv-ing of strawberries, Pleasant Grove-again Grove-again will give its visitors this treat.. The 300 cases of luscious berries will . be served with rich cream and sugar. . jThey will be dispensed at the city-hall city-hall grounds, at noon. Out of the old West will come a rodeo show with its thrills and spills. A Wyoming rodeo company, with Indian riders, will stage the rodeo, featuring a following of top-hand top-hand cowboy riders. Bronc riding, brahma bull riding, bulldogging, calfroping and other events will give the boys something to think about. In addition, special roping, riding, wild cow milking, greased pig chases, and other events will be given to keep the entertainment moving. The rodeo will be held at 2 p. m., at the city ball park. The big Silver Dollar dance at the Strawberry gardens will be the climaxing event of a fun-packed festival. Ralph Migliaccio's Chicago Hotel orchestra will play. Special sound equipment will be used-Monte used-Monte Young's concessions, with ferris wheel, merry-go-round, wall of death, high dive, and other novelties, novel-ties, will be on hand downtown.
