Show City Tops Mark In Utah County Airmail Letters POSTMASTER COMMENDS PUBLIC SUPPORT OF DRIVE Pleasant Grove came through with a record for cities of its size in Utah county, in the recent National Airmail Air-mail week observance, according to Postmaster Frank D. Atwood. During the week, when the use of the airmail was stressed, and all citizens were urged to send at least one airmail letter, 292 letters were sent from the local office. As far as can be determined, this number exceeds that of any other one in the county, except Provo, Mr. Atwood said. About 150 were mailed from American Fork, and other cities had similar records. The local postoffice had 4'2 pounds of mail for the special plane which made a stop at Provo on May 20- This was next to that of Provo in bulk. Splendid cooperation of the public pub-lic in the airmail week was credited with the success met by the Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove postoffice. |
