Show Local Items Mr. and Mrs. Leon Ivie and children chil-dren of Helper are visiting for some time with Mrs. Ivie's parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Ashby. Miss Bona Ashby, who has been attending summer school at the B. Y. U. in Provo( returned home this afternoon. ' Mr. and Mrs. R..L. Ashby attended attend-ed the program given at Aspen Grove Friday evening prior to the annual B. Y. U. Timp. Hike. Miss Helen Haslam returned to her work at the Alpine School Board office Monday morning after her two weeks vacation. Mrs. E. N. Wagstaff had as week- end guests, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Haslam and son, Bobbie, of Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Shafter of Bingham visited Wednesday with Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Grant and Miss Lillie Shafter. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Ault and family, fam-ily, who are spending the summer at Mercur, where Mr. Ault is employed em-ployed in the mine, spent the weekend week-end here at their home. Mrs. A. F. Gaisford attended a bridge party Thursday at the home of Mrs. I. L. Lott in Lehi. Miss Elaine Gaisford is visiting in Provo this week with her sister, Mrs. D. R. Norton. Mrs. Owen D. West and children, Owen Jr., and Anne, of Portland, Oregon, are visiting for a month at the home of Mrs. West's parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Stice. Mr. and Mrs. H. E. McNiell, Miss Affra McNiell and John T. McNiell are planning to celebrate the 24th of July in Ogden. Mr. and Mrs. M. A. Wilde and Mr. and Mrs. Owen Humphries and children motored over the Payson-Nephi Payson-Nephi loop on Sunday. Mrs. Lyle Grant and Miss Merma Grant returned home Wednesday from a ten day trip to California. Miss Grant, who is employed at the J. C. Penney company, returned to work Thursday morning. Mrs. Rulon Nicholas entertained Wednesday evening at a lawn parly in hoj-or of the birthday anniversary anniver-sary of her niece, Miss Jean Parker. Some 22 guests enjoyed playing games, after which a delicious lunch was served, the high light of the affair being an attractive pink birthday cake with 12 lighted candles can-dles on it. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Wright of Or:-den, Or:-den, spent the week-end in American Amer-ican Fork visiting with relative;:. Mark and Nah Grant, brothers of Mrs. Wright, rcturrrd to Ogden with the couple for a short visll. Mrs. Joseph Nicholas received word the first part of the week that Mrs. Ray D. Nicholes hat! nrrived in New York and was visiting with her sister, Mrs. Arnold Workman. Mrs. Nicholes is attending cchool at the Columbia university. Mr. and Mrs. Ros,s Cunningham announce the marriage of their daughter, Arvilla, to James Hooks of Provo. The marrlnno took pln.cr In Salt Lake City, Saturday, July 10th. The young couple will make their home in Provo. Miss Cunningham Cunning-ham is well known In the community commun-ity and hc has many friends who wish her happiness in hr.r new venture. |
