Show Choral society slates Broadway concert An evening of favorite songs from the Broadway stage lies in store Wednesday, March 2, when the Utah Valley Choral Society, under the direction of Lois Johnson, presents "A Lerner and Loewe Showcase." The concert, which will be held at 8 p.m. in the Provo Tabernacle, will feature the music of Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe, creators of the hit musicals "My Fair Lady" and "Camelot." In addition to such favorites as "Get Me to the Church on Time," "I Could Have Danced All Night," "If Ever I Would Leave You" and "The Lusty Month of May," the program will include songs from "Paint Your Wagon" and the lilting melodies of "Brigadoon." Interspersing the choral arrangements with a selection of solo and ensemble numbers, the concert promises to provide the same- variety, vitality and light- hearted entertainment listeners will remember from last season's production of "An Evening With Rodgers and Hammerstein." Tickets are $3.50 and may be purchased at the door. |
