PGHS spring sports tryouts underway With wrestling and boys basketball over and the girls basketball tourney in full swing this week, the spring sports tryouts are underway at PGHS. There are tickets still available. Those interested in attending should Pvt. Kraig Thorne completes basic cannoneer course Army Private Kraig A. Thorne, son of Richard E. and Verean Thorne, Pleasant Grove, has completed the basic field artillery cannoneer course under the one station unit training (OSUT) program at Fort Sill, Okla. During the course, students were taught the duties of a howitzer or gun section crewman. They also received instruction in com-munications, maintenance and the handling of ammunition and ex-plosives. OSUT is a program that combines basic training with advanced in-dividual training. He is a 1987 graduate of Pleasant Grove High School. |
