Show Citizen, Press, Review - Wed., March 2, 1H88 - Page 1 1 Elvis impersonator gives benefit concert for hospitals "Elvis Presley," performed by Dr. Robert "Von" Moody, will give a benefit concert for Utah Valley Regional Medical Center and American Fork Hospital on Saturday, March 5, at 8 p.m. at Timpview High School. Proceeds from the concert will benefit behavioral medicine and substance abuse treatment programs at the hospitals, ac-cording to Paul H. Schneiter, director of the Central Utah Health Care Foundation. "Dr. Moody impersonates Elvis professionally at the Aladdin Hotel in Las Vegas, and is exceptionally good at it," Schneiter said. "In fact, he worked his way through medical school doing Elvis impersonations." "Elvis" will perform numbers from all periods of his career, in-cluding "Hoarthrfak Hntpl " "Rbio Suede Shoes," "Jailhouse Rock," "Hound Dog," "My Way," "Are You Lonesome Tonight?" "Stuck On You," "American Trilogy," "Green, Green Grass of Home," "This Time, Lord, You Gave Me a Mountain," and "Love Me Tender." All tickets are $3 and there is no reserved seating. Tickets can be purchased at the cashier's office at UVRMC, American Fork Hospital, and Orem Community Hospital between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday througli Friday. Belnap eceived his B.A. and M.A. at BYU. He received his D.M.A. at the jniversity of Colorado. He has itudied with Frank Asper and J.J. (eeler at BYU; Marcel Dupre in Dr. Parley Belnap Paris, France; and Flor Peters in Belgium, under whom he received two graduate degrees at the Royal Flemish Conservatory in Antwerp. Belnap is the author of "Hymn Studies for Organists." He is married to Bona Belliston and they have six sons and one daughter. Choral society slates Broadway concert An evening of favorite songs from the Broadway stage lies in store Wednesday, March 2, when the Utah Valley Choral Society, under the direction of Lois Johnson, presents "A Lerner and Loewe Showcase." The concert, which will be held at 8 p.m. in the Provo Tabernacle, will feature the music of Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe, creators of the hit musicals "My Fair Lady" and "Camelot." In addition to such favorites as "Get Me to the Church on Time," "I Could Have Danced All Night," "If Ever I Would Leave You" and "The Lusty Month of May," the program will include songs from "Paint Your Wagon" and the lilting melodies of "Brigadoon." Interspersing the choral arrangements with a selection of solo and ensemble numbers, the concert promises to provide the same- - variety, vitality and light- - hearted entertainment listeners will remember from last season's production of "An Evening With Rodgers and Hammerstein." Tickets are $3.50 and may be purchased at the door. Jageant seeks youth art entries April 25 is the deadline for entries r the youth art exhibit of Utah jageant of the Arts. Selected work y students from kindergarten trough 12th grade will be on jsplay during the Pageant's six-ee- k run, June 23, at jmerican Fork High School. jMarcia Peterson, chairman, said itries will be accepted until April and may be in oils, watercolors, crayon, pencil, pastels, acrylics or sculpture. A $50 U.S. Savings Bond will be awarded to the winner in each grade. There is no entry fee, but artwork must be mounted or have stiff backing. No crafts will be accepted. Students throughout the state may fill out entry forms when art is submitted. Artists whose entries are chosen for exhibition will be notified.
