Show Local student entertains at tourist center Shari Card, daughter of Aaron and Bonnie Card of Pleasant Grove, is an employee at the Polynesian Cultural Center - Hawaii's top paid-admission paid-admission visitor attraction. Card, a graduate of Pleasant Grove High School, currently at- ' tends BYU-Hawaii Campus where she is an English major. Speaking of her employment at the Center as a guide, Card says, "Working at the Polynesian Cultural Center gives me the opportunity op-portunity to meet new people 'and learn about various cultures." The Polynesian Cultural Center, a nonprofit activity of the LDS Church dedicated to helping preserve the cultural heritage of . Polynesia while providing jobs and scholarships for hundreds of students at the adjoining BYU-Hawaii BYU-Hawaii campus, has over 1,000 employees. Since its founding in October 1963, over 15,000 BYU-Hawaii BYU-Hawaii students have helped finance their studies as employees of the Center, and over 18-million : visitors have toured this unique 42-acre 42-acre living museum. |
