The Pleasant Grove Post Office is sponsoring "Plant a Family Tree," a campaign aimed at helping bind the nation together, just as letters do. According to Pleasant Grove Postmaster Wally Adams, free family tree charts are available at the local post office and in other post offices as well. "Many people in, our area are interested in learning more about family history. It helps bind us more closely to our families, our past and our country." Postmaster Adams said he hopes the program especially encourages en-courages school children to learn about their grandparents, and, if they are not living nearby, to write them a letter. "In today's fast-paced culture, members of families are often separated sepa-rated by large distances, growing up with little knowledge of their own families," he said. "I see the Postal Service and letter writing as a way to restore part of that heritage. heri-tage. Letters provide an important link between families." The Postmaster also said the charts offer suggestions on how to get started on a family tree. The effort is being co-sponsored |
