Show People, Politics & Policy By E. MARK BEZZANT Principal Norm Barton, of Valley Val-ley View Elementary, can take a breather at last. Halloween is over. Halloween is one of those celebrations celebra-tions a principal both likes and in some ways wishes it would go away, but Norm is the kind of principal prin-cipal who does not forget the joy it brings to children, even though Norm gets a lot more joy from golf these days. People in Pleasant Grove need to know that the kids at Valley View are upset these days. Someone Some-one cut the seats on their new swings. Some of the children have been holding bake sales and car washes to raise money to replace the swing seats. Keep up the good work Norm and company. It continues to be interesting to follow the debate on the tax initiatives. initia-tives. Mills Crenshaw was caught red handed by State Superintendent Superinten-dent James Moss. Mills, had been, throwing out figures that he claimed were from : the State Office of Education. Mr. Crenshaw said that he obtained the data from a secret source. The materialhadbeen doctored to favor Mr. Crenshaw's position. The material was both inaccurate, inaccu-rate, distorted and falsely attributed attrib-uted to the state office. Take a close look at Mr. Crenshaw's charts. They go back to 1952 and compare the present. What a distortion! In 1952, Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove was primitive compared with today.
